About Lee

Illustrator & Archaeologist

I am an artist based in Sweden. My main occupation is in archaeology, but I have always been drawing and expressing myself through putting pen to paper. One of the reasons I started studying archaeology was to learn more of what the past looked like – in order to incorporate that in their art and visual storytelling.

I make my art in various traditional and digital techniques, and I currently have a preference working traditionally with black ink. My interests in art are broad, although with focus on narrative art and illustration with themes such as fantasy, mythology, folklore and cultural history. Major influences and inspirations are the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien and the North European Iron Age/Early Middle Ages.

Other interests of mine consists of movies/tv-shows, literature, some videogames and other creative outlets such as photography, sewing Iron Age garments, cosplay, baking and cooking. I do some graphic design work for fantasy and choir association Eldandili Fantasy.

I want my art to convey the fantastical and authentic by mixing imaginative worlds with historical and cultural influences from the real world.
